The EVP of Operations will work closely with the CEO and executive team to achieve Delve’s business goals. As an integral member of the executive team, the EVP of Operations will provide day-to-day delivery and operational leadership and contribute to Delve’s strategic direction. You will develop a detailed understanding of the business, its operational dynamics, goals, and objectives, and will provide significant insight into all aspects of the company’s operations.

You will serve as the chief delivery and operations spokesperson. You will lead all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to Delve’s project delivery, resource management, capacity planning, delivery process definition and cross-discipline collaboration. You will also take an active role in pre-acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration. Through a constructive, results-orientation and energetic style, you will provide leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure Delve has the proper delivery processes, tools, and resources in place to support the organization and our growth.

Responsibilities

Delivery Management

  • Mature project and program management function; building upon current strengths to handle larger, integrated programs and deliver strategic value to clients.
  • Work with practice area leadership to define and deploy effective processes and methodologies; defining the “Delve way” methodology.
  • Build and deliver staffing and capacity plans that balance meeting their financial goals and successful delivery of project work maintaining an appropriate balance of full-time employees and contractors.
  • Ensure successful delivery of all project work across the diverse set of Delve’s capabilities.
  • Systematically identify project and program risks and align appropriate resources to minimize impacts. 
  • Oversee estimation and pricing, developing best-practices, maturing tools, and processes, taking an active role in scoping, and estimating of large, complex initiatives.

Delivery Operations

  • Develop and implement best practices for effective resource sharing across studios, balancing the goal of building local culture and ownership with managing a national resource pool to maximize efficiencies of scale.
  • Serve as the connective tissue across practice areas and studio to ensure Delve is effectively sharing resources, knowledge, and best practices.
  • Continue to improve our operational data and reporting at the company, program, and project level to provide better business intelligence to drive performance.
  • Stay connected to business development and the revenue pipeline to help orchestrate recruiting and staffing for incoming work.
  • Oversee the client-facing program and project management team and the internal operations team focused on efficient, cost-effective resource management and capacity planning.

Company Initiatives

  • Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organization vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs during annual planning activities.
  • Partner with CEO and other executive leaders to build and manage a plan for internal initiatives to push the company forward.
  • Play an active role defining the annual financial model including help to define Gross Margin targets.
  • Play an active role in assessing potential acquisition targets and onboarding acquisitions.


Requirements

  • 20+ years of experience in Project/Program Management and Operations in a consulting or agency setting.
  • Experience operationalizing and managing complex, multi-disciplinary programs.
  • Extensive experience in design consulting or a related industry, with a proven track record of successful leadership of multiple practices
  • Experience developing and implementing delivery and operational processes in a consulting or agency setting
  • Strong business acumen, including financial management and strategic planning skills.
  • Experience in financial analysis and financial modeling.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
